Sun Valley Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole, par-3, golf course located in La Mesa, California, just off I-8.

The course opened in 1954 and is next to the city’s municipal pool and above the La Mesa National Little League baseball field. The city owns the land on which the 9-hole public golf course sits — part of 22-acre MacArthur Community Park.

The course plays to a par-27 and measures 1,013 yards from the Blue tees and 811 yards from the Red tees. The course sits on rolling terrain. Although a short course, a number of greens are protected by sand bunkers and water hazards come into play on several holes.

The course closed June 2017. 

Sun Valley added disc golf starting in 2005, and footgolf in 2015. However, the increased cost of water and ever decreasing rounds/revenue were citing as reasons for closing the course. The city will use the space for expansion of the existing park.
